I know it’s crazy to say, but dealing with a credit card lawsuit with help from West Consumer Mediation was amazing! I was hit hard with debt after a not so pleasant divorce. Even though my divorce decree said my ex-husband was responsible for a good portion of the debt – he skipped out. And what they don’t tell you is that creditors are not bound by it. So, I got hit with three lawsuits to the tune of $25K! I was absolutely scared and needed help and fast.
There were so many companies, so I just relied on the BBB for some guidance. I came across this firm, and I am so grateful for that. My ADR director was Mr. Mendez. He took the time to discuss the process and truly heard my anxious concerns. They were able to help me answer the lawsuits and avoid judgments. They always kept me updated during the entire process - Their customer care is Aces! They settled all three in about four months; with incredible debt reductions and payments that I could truly manage. I paid a BK firm and was in process for months until the last phone call when the lawyer said I no longer passed the means test for chapter 7 or 13. Immediately after that phone call, I scrambled to figure out how to respond to the first of several summons in progress without defaulting in a judgement. My first course of action was to go to youtube and learn what to do. I became convinced I could respond and represent myself in court and just tackle each creditor as they come knocking. Literally, knocking at the door to serve me. Luckily, during my research I realized I needed local help, someone familiar with my court's rules and that's when I came across WCM. Just like some of the other reviews said, it was the best decision I ever made. Fast forward 2 months, WCM has already processed and settled one case without going to court and we are negotiating #2. I have about 7 other creditors to settle with and will use WCM for each and every one of them. The process has been so professional, affordable and seamless, I can't say enough good things about this firm. While the legal assistance has been priceless, I no longer have anxiety over default liens and judgments, but they've actually saved me close to $1,000 just on my first case. Most important, and best decision my wife and I have ever made regarding our debts. We got so many letters and calls from debt settlement companies; bankruptcy, consolidation; nothing we were remotely interested in doing - it was like everyone knew we were being sued! But there was only one that we found that was local and had great BBB reviews – West Consumer Mediation.
I sent a request online and let them know that we were worried about answering the lawsuits on time, and how to do it. They sent a response back the same day. I spoke to Jesse who was my mediator. He answered all our questions completely and laid out the process in plain language. They were able to help us respond and avoid a judgment – the panic was over. All-in-all it took about six weeks to settle both cases. They reduced our total debt by $7500 of which one we paid lump sum and the other with monthly payments that was in-line with our budget. Yes, there was a fee. They charge 20% of the amount reduced, but they reduced that to 10% - Halleluiah! No Judgments on our credit report. No more debt collectors hammering our phones. No more worries. My wife and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the outcome. We highly recommend their services if you are in this situation. West Consumer Mediation is a Sacramento based company - which was important to me. It was also important to see so many positive BBB endorsements, since so many others had none, and were not local. As a teacher, I had been able to keep working through-out the pandemic, but my husband, who is a structural engineer didn’t. The past year has been a nightmare! With money so tight, we had to cut-back everywhere, and had a personal loan and two credit cards go into default. We were now 35K plus in debt and being sued on two of the three (the third eventually followed).
I found WCM through the BBB and sent a request for assistance. They got back to me the same day and provided an outline of services. I spoke to Mr. Mendez who was thorough, informative, and professional. They were able to get us assistance with the lawsuits to avoid judgments (of which we had little time to respond) and gave us some breathing room to figure out our finances. With my husband back to work, we were eager to get this all behind us as quickly as possible. From mid-May to just today all debts have been settled for less than what we owed, two in lump sum and one with a monthly payment. All-in-all, they saved us from having judgments on our credit and over $9K of debt. Their fee was 20% of what they saved us, but they lowered that to 10% - tears of joy!

I had made so many calls trying to get help with my debts but could never get a clear answer from anyone-mostly bankruptcy attorneys. Freedom quoted me 25% of my total debt! On top of what I would pay the creditors – no wonder their reviews are lousy. I found West Consumer Mediation through the BBB and requested information. They got back to me quickly and set up a proposal that was crystal clear. I was being sued for a credit card and they were able to get me help with that and my other collections. They settled the lawsuit in a lump sum deal and settled the others with payments I could afford, all within about 5 months. Their fee was 20% of what they saved me, not on what my total debt was, which was literally thousands less. I hope I never need the service again but would recommend them to anyone who does.

I found WCM through the BBB, as we always do, and I am glad I looked there first – as this matter was critical. Dealing with debt collectors and trying to navigate the covid-19 issues had us both at our wits end – we needed help fast! I made a request for information on their website and was provided a plan of action the same day. Jesse was my ADR director. He was patient and kind, fully answering our questions and concerns. Their fees are based on the reduction of each settled account (we had three, with one lawsuit that needed answering). From February to June, he was able to settle all debts with payments arrangements, as well as keeping us out of court or worse- a judgment. We are extremely grateful for his/WCM service. I would recommend them to my friends if they were in a similar situation.

Excellent service! Getting set-up was easy and I was able to do it on my phone. They charge a percentage of what is reduced from each account, which was far less than National, or Freedom quoted & they are local. They got us out of a difficult jam with three creditors, one of which had sued us. They immediately got us help with the lawsuit to avoid a judgment and settled all credit cards in about 5 months. Let me just say straight from the get-go, that the mediators at West Consumer Mediation are true consumer advocates, and I have already recommended their services to family and friends. I only wish I had found them sooner. My credit woes began soon after my divorce. I surprisingly learned that a divorce decree means nothing to creditors and the debt collectors were breathing down my neck! Being a state employee, I had little time to figure this stuff out, nor did I want to get lost in internet DIY garbage. Their fee was based on performance-how much they saved me; Not the amount of debt I had. Which was far less than all the companies I called; and by far the most transparent & patient. I had one point-of-contact and could easily get updates by email. They are a Sacramento based company, which was nice to know. The proof is in the pudding and it was sweet! It took about six months to settle all debts with payments I could manage. One of my creditors had sued me during the processes and they were able to help me avoid a judgment too – phew! I am glad I found this company and I will continue to recommend their services. By far the greatest experience I have had dealing with my credit issues. I have struggled with debt & debt collections for the past 3 years and have dealt with some of the nastiest bill collectors. Being sued was just a punch in the gut! I wasn’t about to take this on myself and I needed help fast! After many calls to many companies, WCM was the most transparent about their program and most affordable over-all. Mr. M*****, My ADR director, took time to clarify each step; never making me feel hurried. As a teacher It was nice to be able to get updates on-the-go by email and text. They were able to negotiate settlements on all my debts; with payments my husband and I could afford as well as evading definite devastating damage to our credit - by avoiding judgments. The folks at West Consumer Mediation are heaven-sent. I was in a bad financial situation that was mismanaged by a company that offered “freedom”. They took my money each month and After 8 months with them, I was sued by three creditors. Letters from those creditors went directly to them, and they never told me that the lawsuits were pending.
I was in a complete panic. I knew this wasn’t a do-it-yourself kind of thing and the clock was ticking. My friend Sheila had been in a similar situation and recommended WCM. I called and spoke with Casey. After explaining my situation, he explained the details of their program in a clear jargon- free way, which was upfront and candid. Casey took down my information for review and within a couple of hours had a plan of action detailed for me. Their settlement fee was far less than the 25% the other group wanted, and they were able to get me help with answering the lawsuits; which was also far less than I was quoted by a couple attorney’s. I was kept in the loop with periodic email and text updates, which was great considering my work schedule. They helped me avoid default judgments and within five months, they had settled the cases saving me over eight-thousand dollars with payments that I could handle. I only wish I had come to them first. I recommend WCM to anyone who is serious about cleaning up their credit or has been sued by a creditor. After my divorce, I was left with many credit cards that went bad – I simply couldn’t keep up. They eventually charged-off and for a year or so I didn’t hear a word. Then came the collection calls and the demands I just could not meet. Then came the lawsuits. My credit was fair but having judgments would be a disaster and I was finally feeling like I was making up some financial ground – I went into panic mode. I jumped online and found a sea of attorneys and debt settlement companies. I settled on a few local companies and called for help. Since the past recession, I have struggled with income and paying my credit cards. I had two of my credit cards close and charge off; I thought that was going to be the end – boy was I wrong! The cards ended up with two very nasty collection agencies that sued me and robo-called me day-and-night. I tried calling them to explain my situation, but each time I was met with antagonistic and unsympathetic characters who seemed to be more interested in talking about what I couldn’t do, rather then what I was finically capable of. There was no shortage of solicitations in the mail from attorneys that said they could help. I called them all, and they all could help, but all cost a small fortune. Some couldn’t even explain their services but wanted me to pay them $100 every month? I was referred to West Consumer Mediation by a co-worker, of whom I confided in. She had used them in a similar matter. She gave me their number and advised me to speak to Christopher – who was her negotiator. I called him immediately. Chris, explained their services step-by-step and the cost of the program was far less then everyone else I spoke to; and didn’t require monthly payments to them (which he found a little fishy). I was kept in the loop all throughout the process and was able to check in by email and text; which was a great since I’m usually on the go. I started the program four months ago, and they were able to settle both lawsuits for far less then was being offered; saving me over $2K – not to mention avoiding judgments on my credit report. Two of my credit cards were sold to collection agencies; ********* ******** & ******* and they both filed lawsuits against me – very nasty! It seemed like everyone knew I was being sued, by the number of notices I got in the mail. I started calling the various companies for help. I called half a dozen companies who were all positive they could help, but couldn’t explain their process over the phone? I even took a meeting with a company whose manager was very enthusiastic but could not articulate their process and wanted a down-payment and $99 a month to start. I was on the fence, and increasingly anxious about the lawsuits. Before committing, I called West Consumer Mediation. I spoke to their ADR director Mr. M***** who explained what the processes would be, in plain simple terms. He also let me know what the cost was; which was far less then any of the companies I had called and met with. I decided to go with them, and they got started that same day. The process moved exactly as he had explained and I was even able to check-in by email and text; which was awesome due to my work hours. With their support, I got some breathing room and was no longer facing default. Privately, they had me explain my hardship, financial goals and thresholds for payments. They developed a plan and began negotiating directly with the collectors. In less then five months they were able to get a deal on one of my cards that I could settle in full and a reduction on the other with payments I could manage. All said, they saved me over seven-thousand dollars; sidestepped court and saved my credit from judgments. My experience with West Consumer Mediation is one that I will share with all that find themselves in this kind of situation. I had just been married and was looking to restore my credit, when bam! I was sued for two credit cards that had gone bad in my last year at Davis University. Yes, my new husband was aware of my credit, but I felt bad about the situation; none the less. I tried calling the collection agency to work-out the debts, but was met with nastiness, inflexibility and lack of decency. I was numb with the thought of having judgments against me, and now, my new husband. This single mother is grateful for the brilliant service provided by West Consumer Mediation. I made many calls trying to get help from other companies. Many were extremely vague about their service and cost, and some wanted monthly payments of a $100! I am a full-time mom and nurse with little time and money to waste. We had a pretty complicated case, two lawsuits and three in serious default. David went above and beyond the expectations of my husband and I. We were right at the cut-off of bankruptcy, which we really didn’t want anyways, and were badly in need of help. David was pleasant and very easy to talk to. Nothing short of Fantastic! I have been battling cancer for a year and a half. I had to take leave from work to undergo surgery & chemotherapy. Through it all, I was always exhausted and in physical pain. On top of that, I would get calls from various bill collectors from portfolio recovery, who always read the same script and would never listen to my hardship-then they sued me. A debt buyer for a credit card we had defaulted on several years ago sued my wife and me. Like so many others, we had fallen behind, due to the recession and loss of work. We have begun to rebuild our finances, and the last thing we needed was this. A friend, who had used their services before, recommended them to us. We gave them a call. An agent would call if things were needed, but if we had questions we had one go-to-person. After taking the time to understand our goals and financial capabilities, he laid out a plan that we could follow. ***** updated us when settlements were reachable for us and executed on each one upon our approval –We handled our own money-.
